Guías para instalar y usar KODEMON en macOS. Si no encuentras lo que buscas, escríbenos a support@kodemon.app.

Importante

Si ya tienes una versión anterior de KODEMON instalada, te recomendamos desinstalarla primero (cierra la app y arrastra KODEMON desde Aplicaciones a la Papelera) antes de instalar desde un DMG nuevo. Esto evita conflictos entre versiones.

Desde la versión 1.1 (11), KODEMON recibe actualizaciones automáticas: la app avisa sola cuando hay una versión nueva, sin que tengas que volver a descargar el DMG. Este paso de desinstalar solo hace falta la primera vez que instalas desde cero.

Instalación — camino normal

  1. Descarga el archivo .dmg desde el link que te compartimos.
  2. Ábrelo con doble clic — se monta una ventana con el ícono de KODEMON.
  3. Doble clic en el ícono de KODEMON para abrirlo directo desde ahí. No hace falta arrastrarlo a mano, la app se instala sola.
  4. La primera vez, macOS pregunta si estás seguro de abrir una app descargada de internet. Haz clic en Open. Es normal, pasa con cualquier app notarizada descargada del navegador.
  5. Listo. KODEMON aparece como un ícono en la barra de menú, arriba a la derecha.

Problemas comunes al instalar

Ya tenía una versión anterior instalada

Si al hacer doble clic en KODEMON desde el instalador ya tenías una copia instalada o abierta de antes, va a aparecer un cartel:

Instala KODEMON en Aplicaciones Estás abriendo KODEMON directamente desde el instalador. Puedo instalarlo en Aplicaciones automáticamente: cierro la versión anterior si está abierta, instalo la nueva, y la abro por ti.

Haz clic en "Instalar y abrir". Se encarga de todo solo, no hace falta que hagas nada manual.

Dice que la app está en uso

Esto pasa si arrastraste el ícono a mano hacia Aplicaciones en vez de abrirlo directo desde el instalador: la versión anterior está abierta en ese momento y tiene el archivo bloqueado.

Solución: haz clic en el ícono de KODEMON en la barra de menú → Quit (o Cmd+Q). Espera unos segundos y vuelve a intentarlo. Más simple todavía: en vez de arrastrar a mano, haz doble clic en KODEMON directo desde el instalador, así se encarga de cerrar la versión anterior por ti.

Aparece que hay dos copias de KODEMON

Elige la opción de usar la copia más reciente (la de fecha de hoy). Si el cartel ofrece moverla a la Papelera y no lo permite, cierra KODEMON primero (barra de menú → Quit) e inténtalo de nuevo.

Después de instalar, sigue apareciendo la versión anterior

Confirma la versión desde el menú de KODEMON. Si no coincide con la última, cierra completamente la app (barra de menú → Quit) y vuelve a abrirla.

Nada de esto funciona

Cierra KODEMON, elimina manualmente la app de la carpeta Aplicaciones, y vuelve a instalar desde cero siguiendo el camino normal de arriba. Si el problema continúa, escríbenos con tu versión de macOS y qué viste exactamente.

Important

If you already have an older version of KODEMON installed, we recommend uninstalling it first (quit the app and drag KODEMON from Applications to the Trash) before installing from a new DMG. This avoids conflicts between versions.

Starting with version 1.1 (11), KODEMON receives automatic updates: the app lets you know on its own when a new version is available, no need to download the DMG again. This uninstall step is only needed the first time you install from scratch.

Installing — the normal way

  1. Download the .dmg from the link we shared with you.
  2. Open it with a double click — a window mounts with the KODEMON icon.
  3. Double click the KODEMON icon to open it directly from there. No need to drag it manually, the app installs itself.
  4. The first time, macOS asks if you're sure you want to open an app downloaded from the internet. Click Open. This is normal, it happens with any notarized app downloaded from a browser.
  5. Done. KODEMON shows up as an icon in the menu bar, top right.

Common install issues

I already had an older version installed

If you already had a copy of KODEMON installed or running when you double-clicked it from the installer, this dialog will appear:

Install KODEMON in Applications You're opening KODEMON directly from the installer. I can install it in Applications automatically: close the previous version if it's open, install the new one, and open it for you.

Click "Install and open". It handles everything automatically, no manual steps needed.

It says the app is in use

This happens if you dragged the icon to Applications by hand instead of opening it directly from the installer: the old version is currently running and has the file locked.

Fix: click the KODEMON icon in the menu bar → Quit (or Cmd+Q). Wait a few seconds and try again. Simpler still: instead of dragging manually, double-click KODEMON directly from the installer — it takes care of closing the old version for you.

It says there are two copies of KODEMON

Choose the option to use the most recent copy (today's date). If the dialog offers to move it to Trash and it won't let you, quit KODEMON first (menu bar → Quit) and try again.

After installing, I still see the old version

Check the version from KODEMON's menu. If it doesn't match the latest, fully quit the app (menu bar → Quit) and reopen it.

None of this works

Quit KODEMON, manually delete the app from the Applications folder, and reinstall from scratch following the normal path above. If it still doesn't work, email us with your macOS version and exactly what you saw.
